Aertssen Group donates laptops to schools in Kapellen
After the Easter holidays, students start online classes, but not every child has a computer at home. Therefore, Minister of Education Ben Weyts launched an appeal to provide students with a laptop. And of course Aertssen Group is happy to help!
Aertssen Group has been preparing 20 used laptops for secondary school students in Kapellen. Greg Aertssen, CEO: “With this donation, we want to help students follow online classes and complete assignments on a computer. We want to help and support all teachers and students in these challenging times. ”
Two weeks ago, Aertssen Group also donated masks to the surrounding municipalities, including Kapellen. Those masks have now been distributed to care providers of local nursing homes. “We are very grateful to have received this protective masks for our health care providers. Helping to protect their safety is a wonderful gesture. ” said Dirk Van Mechelen, mayor of Kapellen.

In these difficult times, we want to support caregivers in our communities. That is why Aertssen Group has donated 2,500 masks to nursing homes in Stabroek, Kieldrecht and the neighboring municipality of Kapellen.

On July 27th 2020 additional measures have been taken in Antwerp to prevent a further spread of the Covid-19 virus and to protect the most vulnerable in our society. 65.000 m³ grond vervoerd langs de Schelde voor luxe-project Montevideo Residence
Vandaag zijn de werken voor de Montevideo-site op ‘t Eilandje pas echt van start gegaan. En dat is alles behalve alledaags te noemen. Onze grote rupskranen en grondverzetmachines zullen de komende maanden zo’n 65.000 m³ grond afgraven en via de Schelde afvoeren. Om deze gigantische karwei - de grootste afgraving in jaren op ‘t Eilandje - te klaren, zijn 44 vrachtschepen nodig die maar liefst 4.500 vrachtwagens - ofwel 9.000 ritten - op de weg zouden vervangen.

Aertssen Group finaliseerde op 25 januari 2019 de overname van Envi en Willy Crommen. De ondernemingen uit Hoeselt werden tot voor kort bestuurd door Jan Van Broekhoven. Hij zal aan boord blijven en de verdere groei helpen uitbouwen.

Accredited asbestos removal
Another milestone that we are proud of! We received accreditation for asbestos removal from the Federal Public Service (FOD WASO). Aertssen Group is a specialist in this field and offers a range of removal methods including remove use of incubator bags and in hermetic zones.
Our first warehouse has been built
We are very proud of our latest project. In just two months, we have refreshed the historic hangar 19 that stood along the Scheldt quays in Antwerp and rebuilt it on the sites of Spoor Oost.

Clean up operations following a train incident
This morning, we started the salvage works of damaged trains on the La Louvière-Bergen line. Thanks to the combined efforts of Aertssen Group, we performed this delicate job safely, quickly and professionally.
A new mileston: 1,500,000 m³
Last year Aertssen started working in Wülfrath (Germany) with the preparatory works for a limestone quarry. We are removing several top layers of overburden, such as rocks and waste. Last week we've reached the milestone of 1,500,000 m³ of earthmoving! Quite impressive!

Open Doors Ford Genk
Aertssen and Aclagro are joining forces for a challenging project to demolish the C-zone of the former FORD plant at Genk. Sunday 01/10/2017 we are opening Ford Genk's old factory buildings. Vandaag is de afbraak van de oude fabriek van Ford Genk begonnen. De eerste fabriekshal werd neergehaald met hulp van Minister Muyters en in aanwezigheid van Frieda Brepoels, voorzitter van de Vlaamse Waterweg, en Genks burgemeester Wim Dries.
Center of Kapellen gets a makeover
In 2023 the center of Kapellen will look very differently. A new administrative center, 30 service flats, a service center and a banquet hall will be built. Last week Aertssen signed the contract for this redevelopment project.
"Den Bosuil" is saying farewell to its stage 1, making ways for a modern and new one. Aertssen is currently excavating the construction pit for the new stage.

Remediation works at Lobroekdok
In the presence of Flemish Minister of Mobility Ben Weyts and Antwerp's municipal councillor of Mobility Koen Kennis, Aertssen started the remediation works of the Lobroekdok. These works are an important preparation for the construction of the Oosterweel connection.
Largest sand sculpture ever in the Zwin
Zwin currently displays the world's largest sand sculpture. The artwork measures 40 by 40 meters and represents the logo of our group. We took pride in unveiling the logo during our family day on April 29, 2017.
Clean-up operations in the wake of a derailment
Saturday a train was derailed nearby Leuven (B). Aertssen was contracted for the entire clean-up and recovery operation. We united forces and in less than 36 hours Aannemingsbedrijf Aertssen, Aertssen Kranen and Aertssen Transport brought this delicate operation to a successful finish.
Demolition of last remnants of former sugar factory
05/10/2016 - Aannemingsbedrijf Aertssen demolishes the last remnants of the former sugar factory in Veurne and paves the way for a new green future. The former site of no less than 46 hectares, will be transformed into a new residential area with an expansive park area, nature reserve and a business park. Without a doubt, Aertssen is proud to work on this project.

120 extra hectares for the Zwin
03/08/2016 – Aannemingsbedrijf Aertssen Aertssen is quite busy working in Knokke-Heist. The famous intertidal area the Zwin will be rebuilt and expanded with no less than, 120 hectares in the next three years. The new nesting islands, pools, cycling and hiking paths will undoubtedly charm humans and animals alike.
Construction of Hospital ZNA Cadix
20/05/2016 - In the very heart of Antwerp, Aannemingsbedrijf Aertssen is helping with the construction of the new hospital ZNA Cadix. The new hospital will be located next to the Kempenstraat and nearby MAS and University College AP.
ATV reported the start of the works.

Bezinkingsbassins ruimen plaats voor natuurgebied
Op de site van de voormalige suikerraffinaderij van Genappe helpt Aertsen Terrassements mee aan de herontwikkeling van de oude bezinkingsbassins op de site. De site krijgt een invulling als natuurgebied.
