Aertssen helps build a wind farm

Sustainable location

The Hooge Maey location, smack-dab in the middle of the Antwerp harbour area, is a perfect area for a wind farm. And so this is now being built - with the help of Aertssen Transport and Aertssen Kranen. In three months’ time, we collected and transported the components for five windmills.

The Hooge Maey location, smack-dab in the middle of the Antwerp harbour area, is a perfect area for a wind farm. And so this is now being built - with the help of Aertssen Transport and Aertssen Kranen. In three months’ time, we collected and transported the components for five windmills.

What used to be a contaminated dumping ground is now slowly becoming a sustainable location: the Hoge Maey focuses completely on renewable energy. And Aertssen is contributing to this by means of the professional transport of huge components for five separate windmills.

For each windmill, we transported 42 concrete segments... among other things. This translates into 1300 tons for each windmill. Both inland waterway ships and trucks were required for the transport of these heavyweights. The other components were transported by roadway from the factory to their final destination. Once at the final destination, Aertssen Kranen ensured flawless installation using the new CC3800. Simply put,, it’s another fine example of cracking teamwork.
