Green Energy
Aertssen Group wants to be an energy transition pioneer. We invest in green energy and make our machines and know-how available for projects focused on renewable energy. Building wind turbines, a solar park or research on the use of hydrogen: these are just some examples of ways in which we help pave the way towards a more sustainable future.
De Zonneberg: Terranova Solar
In Zelzate, Aertssen played a role in remediating an old gypsum dump. Today, this former brownfield has been turned into De Zonneberg: the second largest solar panel park in the Benelux, consisting of 55,000 solar panels that deliver electricity to 4,000 families. Aertssen participated in this project and co-owns the solar panels.
Building wind turbines
By combining our business units Transport & Logistics and Cranes, we off all-in-one solutions for wind turbine construction. From arranging and executing exceptional transport of all parts to the hoisting works during assembly: our departments join forces to help the energy transition become a reality.
Hydrogen as a power source
Being an active member of the Belgian Power-to-Gas-cluster of Waterstofnet, we are truly invested in exploring the use of hydrogen as a means to store solar power, which in turn can be used as fuel for our fleet of cars, trucks, fork-lift trucks and inland waterway vessels. Our main goal is to be an early adopter of this kind of technology. We are for instance also looking into installing hydrogen stations on our sites.
