In Vlassenbroek, Aertssen assisted in the construction of a controlled flood area that will also create a beautiful piece of nature. The flood area consists of two parts, separated by a compartment dyke. The northern ring dyke has been partially constructed. Connecting to it, a new ring dyke was constructed.
In addition, we also provided drainage ditches, catchment basins and a levee with inlet and outlet sluice to allow the river water to flow in and out. All deliveries and removals for this project took place over water.
